I'm not going to explain myself, if you're looking for my stance on these topics, here it is...

How often should I workout?

  • At a bare minimum, 3-4 days. I would reccomend 5-6 days a week. Taking rest days when needed.

  • Personally, I will workout until I feel like my body needs rest. The consistency is most important to me.

  • for example: workout for 5 days in a row, take 2 days off. workout every other day for two week, then workout everyday for 7 days. Depends on how my body reacts to the training.

What the best exercise for weight loss?

  • Main focus on barbell weight lifting with a little cardio mixed in. OR HIIT (high intensity interval training) with the focus on barbell training. Cardio is only done for the sake of burning calories, not becoming strong.

  • The best exercise for weight loss is to exercise your consistency in the gym.

  • Whatever form of exercise keeps you excited to come into the gym

How long does it take to see results?

  • At a minimum, 4-6 weeks. assuming you're giving it your all.

  • However, there may be a delayed period, all bodies are different. Trust the process.

  • The results we typically think of and look for (tone abs, bigger arms, leg definiton) is going to be a part of the journey. It's not going to be quick. It takes real, hard work.

Do I need to lift weights to get toned?

  • YES!

  • Sorry that was rude. Yes. In order for the muscle to become toned, it needs to grow. There, having more to "show" and giving you that defined look.

  • No, you wont look like a body builder, (unless you want to, thats a different conversation) you're going to lean out and grow muscle so its a win-win.

Is cardio or strength training better?

  • Strength training is by far superior, weight training not only makes you strong, but it's fulfilling.

  • cardio, like I said before, is just for the sake of burning calories and nothing else.

  • plus, cardio is dumb lol. (jk, no hate to my crossfitt people or runners <3)

What should I eat before and/or after a workout?

  • Before: carbs and protein

  • after: protein and healthy fats

  • Working out fasted isnt a good idea, you wont have any energy and we dont need you passing out mid workout. Make sure you you get protein almost immediately after your workout. You anabolic window is only 45 minutes.

Is it ok to workout on an empty stomach?

  • No

  • You need food before you workout. IF you're one to get sick while working out because you ate something, eat something light and up to an hour before.

  • Like i stated before, if you have no energy, and you're going through an intense or rigourous workout, your likelihood to passout is significantly higher.

What's the best diet for muscle gain

  • high protein, balanced appropriately with carbs and fats.

  • putting yourself in a surplus of protein, pairing it with weight training.

  • making sure you are eating enough protein to begin with.

Can I lose weight without dieting?

  • Lets break this down. What is weight? It is your total body weight. What is muscle mass? What is fat mass? If we simply lose "weight", are we losing muscle or fat? It's hard to say without a high-end body scanner.

  • Without exercise, and in a calorie deficit with the intention of losing "weight". You are going to lose muscle.

  • Proper nutrition is the most important part of all of this.

How can I stay motivated to exercise?

  • I cant Remember who said this quote, or know exactly they said it but:

  • "motivation is doing the thing that you don't want to do when you don't want to do it."

  • Something along those lines, no one is ever motivated. They are disciplined and determined.

How do I lose belly fat?

  • The quailty of foods that you eat

  • how much/little you eat

  • Proper training

Should I workout every day?

  • let me emphasize, rest days are important. However, there are active rest days.

  • For myself, I fear of losing my consistency so even on my "off" days, I do a leisurely activity (Nature walk, a very light workout, self-care).

  • Recover and rest when it makes sense for you.

What's the best way to improve flexibility?

  • Stretching... (my clients are gonna give me an earful for this one)

  • Foam rolling, mobility based exercises.

  • And most importantly... say it with me, CONSISTENCY.

How can I prevent injury during my workouts?

  • Please please please! Always warm-up. We can talk about what a proper looks like in another blog.

  • Proper form, this one is hard to do on your own, especially if you're brand new to the gym. This is when a fitness professional comes in.

  • Knowing when too much is too much. Knowing when to stop.

These are some of the most common asked questions that i have run into. Let me know what else to add to the list!

Have any more questions you cannot seem to find the answers to? Or are there questions you need answers to, and how no idea where to begin?
